Singapore Fashion Week or SFW was born out of its 14-year old predecessor Fashion Connections and re-launched as SFW in 2001. A trade show to promote and propel the Singapore fashion onto the global stage, it was organized by TAFf – The Fashion Federation of Singapore and supported by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore and SPRING Singapore. Under the umbrella of the main annual SFW event were several grouped presentations including the Singapore Designers Label Show, International Designers Showcase, Singapore Fashion Designers Contest, Asian Young Fashion Designers Contest, Singapore Fashion Awards Gala and Fashion Design Forum. Apart from engaging and looking after over a hundred local media, over 20 regional and international media were invited and hosted each year to attend to cover the events.
